DESCRIPTION:NEPPA’s is pleased to offer our revitalized Crew Leadership Program in two locations this year.\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Course Dates & Hours\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				October 16 – 17\, 2024 – Littleton\, MA(8:00 am – 2:00 pm) \nCrew Leadership Program is designed to build upon existing leadership skills to work more effectively and efficiently in the field\, while meeting standards and regulatory requirements. \nIn addition to in-class lecture\, the Crew Leadership Program includes a final exam to demonstrate knowledge and comprehension of the course content. \nUpon successful completion of the Program\, students are awarded a Certificate of Completion. \nClick here to download the 2024 detailed agenda. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Who Should Attend\nThis program is designed for the following: \n\nCurrent or aspiring crew leaders\nLineworkers or operations employees\nEmployees or Supervisors transitioning from other departments\nConstruction Supervisors\nProject Managers\n\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Location\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				October 16 – 17\, 2024\nNEPPA Training Center\n 200 New Estate Road\nLittleton\, MA 01460\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Learning Objectives \nUpon completion of this two-day program\, participants will be able to successfully: \n\nDevelop an understanding of different leadership styles and their applications in a crew setting.\nPractice tactics and strategies to transition from an employee to a leader.\nCultivate practical communication skills to convey instructions\, provide feedback\, and resolve conflicts within the crew.\nEnhance problem-solving abilities to address challenges and obstacles that arise during crew activities.\nAcquire knowledge of team dynamics and how to foster a positive and productive work environment within the crew.\nLearn techniques for motivating and inspiring crew members to achieve common goals and objectives.\nGain proficiency in decision-making processes relevant to crew operations\, considering safety\, efficiency\, and resource management factors.\nDevelop organizational skills to plan and coordinate crew tasks\, schedules\, and resources effectively.\nUnderstand the importance of accountability and responsibility as a leader within the crew\, including the ability to take ownership of mistakes and learn from them.\nExplore strategies for building trust and rapport among crew members to enhance collaboration and cohesion.\nEvaluate personal leadership strengths and areas for growth and create a plan for continuous self-improvement as a crew leader.\nUnderstand the management of emergent situations that require mutual aid assistance and coordination.\n\n  \nThese objectives serve as a framework for a comprehensive crew leadership course that addresses various aspects of leadership within the utility. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Course Prerequisites \nThe Crew Leadership Program is designed to build upon learning concepts in the Apprentice Lineworker and Advanced Lineworker Programs. \nThe ideal participant has at least 3 – 5 years experience working in the field. \n \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Registration Fees \nRegistration fees include coffee and Lunch each day. Substitutions may be made at any time prior to the start of the first session. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Instructors\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					Anthony Calascibetta\n					Trainer \n					Anthony has 40 years of Electrical experience and 25 years of Electric Utility experience. Starting out as a Lineworker\, he moved to the Substation Division as a Lead Substation Technician. \nHe is proficient in relay testing\, transformer testing\, circuit breaker testing\, and all aspects of wiring in overhead\, underground\, metering\, and substations. \nAnthony is an OSHA Authorized General Industry Trainer\, and OSHA Authorized Construction Trainer and a Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP). \n					\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					Dan Flynn\n					Trainer \n					Dan Flynn has been a safety trainer with Northeast Public Power Association\, since September 2018 after retiring from Wakefield Municipal Gas and Light Dept with more than a 40-year career in public power. Dan is a Certified First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor. \nDan started in the electric meter department in the 1970’s and worked his way through the electric line department as a lineman/line foremen and his last position as the electric department superintendent. Some of Dan’s responsibilities included construction\, maintenance\, and safety of the electric line division. Dan continues to maintain his 1B/2A Mass. hoisting license and a Mass. Class A Driving license. \nDan lives with his wife of 43 years\, Alayne\, and they have two adult children and three grandchildren. \nHe says\, “It is a privilege to continue to be involved with the public power industry in New England to give back any knowledge I’ve acquired over these many years.” \n					\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Questions?\nPlease contact training@neppa.org or call the office at (978) 540-2200.
