SUMMARY:Metering I Program
DESCRIPTION:In direct response to members’ feedback\, NEPPA announced a completely revitalized Metering Program in 2020. As the Program continues to evolve\, we encourage members and students to provide their honest feedback on the program. NEPPA’s Metering I Program will be held April 5 -6\, 2023 at the NEPPA Training Center (200 New Estate Road\, Littleton\, MA 01460). \nNEPPA’s Metering I Program is designed to be an introduction to the fundamentals of meter equipment and safety. The Program will introduce how meters are used as an integral part of the distribution system and why their accurate and efficient readings are critical to a utility’s success. \n \nClick here to download the detailed agenda. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Who Should Attend\nMetering I is designed for: \n\nNew or Transitioning Meter Technicians\nLineworkers\nSupervisors or Managers transitioning from other departments\n\nLocation\nNEPPA Training Center200 New Estate RoadLittleton\, MA 01460 \nLearning Objectives \n\nDemonstrate a foundational/introductory knowledge of meter use\, demand and digital vs. analog meters.\nPractice hands-on safe installation and removal of a meter\nCalculate and demonstrate the safe measurement of electricity\nRecognize meter theft\, revenue protection controls\, and how to safely install service and conduct inspections.\nDemonstrate a basic understanding of net metering\, demand metering and reverse metering.\nAccurately identify faulty equipment and troubleshoot solutions\n\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Prerequisites \nStudents are expected to participate in the Basic Electricity and Mathematics for Utility Operations course\, or have a solid understanding of basic electricity concepts\, theory and mathematics. \nRegistration \nRegistration fees include coffee and lunch each day.
