DESCRIPTION:NEPPA’s Substation I Program is held 4-days/week for 4 weeks/year.  Substation I is designed to be an introduction to substations including safety\, design\, operation\, equipment and theory. \n*NEW* Beginning in 2021\, each Friday of the session will consist of a virtual review of the week’s material and online testing. Tim has a long history working in the electric utility industry\, including as General Manager of Belmont Municipal Light Department from 1995 – 2007. \nMost recently\, Tim has worked as Principal of Fundy Power Services\, LLC and at Consulting Engineers Group prior to that. \nTim brings a wealth of both technical and safety expertise to the organization and applies his expertise of both in an easy-to-understand and easy-to-learn approach. \n					\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					Thomas (Tom) Succi\n					Safety & Technical Trainer - Day 1: Basic Electricity & Mathematics for Utility Operations \n					Tom has worked in metering in New England for the past 48 years as a meter technician\, instructor\, engineer and manager. He has created instructional programs and taught in the region for most of his career and also ran the meter apprentice training for many years at National Grid as a Principal Trainer. \nHe recently retired as the Supervisor of Meter Test and Engineering at United Illuminating and looks forward to continuing his career as an instructor. SUMMARY:Hoisting 1B-1D Training
DESCRIPTION:NEPPA offers hoisting Continuing Education and Test Prep classes for: \n> Hoisting 1B-1D: hoisting machines\, i.e. cranes and bucket trucks\n> Hoisting 2A-2C: digging machines\, i.e. excavators and backhoes \nPer mandated requirement\, all classes are scheduled for 4 hours. These classes are for both\, continuing education (to renew the license) and the test prep (to prepare for the test to receive a brand-new license). \nONLY test prep attendees are NOT required to attend the full 4 hours of class. \nStudents attending classes for continuing education will need to bring their hoisting license for verification and will receive a certificate of completion at the end of each class. If the hoisting license is not brought to class for verification\, or if the license has been expired for more than a year\, the certificate will not be issued. In this case\, you will have to take the test again. Then he moved over to Burlington Electric in 2002 where he was working as a line foreman. \nPete has an Associate’s degree of applied science in Power Technology and has his Mass. 1B/2A Hoisting License. \nPete currently lives in Winooski\, VT and has been married to his wife\, Mary Ann\, for the past 30 years. They have two children together\, Nathan and Natalie. His hobbies are woodworking\, beekeeper and rabbit hunting with his beagles. \nPete goes on to say\, “teaching has been a big part of my career and NEPPA gives me a chance to continue teaching\, which I love to do!” \n					\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					Dan Flynn\n					Safety & Technical Trainer \n					Dan Flynn has been a safety trainer with Northeast Public Power Association\, since September 2018 after retiring from Wakefield Municipal Gas and Light Dept with more than a 40 year career in public power. \nDan started in the electric meter department in the 1970’s and worked his way through the electric line department as a lineman/line foremen and his last position as the electric department superintendent.  Some of Dan’s responsibilities covered construction\, maintenance\, and safety of the electric line division.  Dan continues to maintain his  1B/2A Mass. hoisting license and a Mass. DESCRIPTION:NEPPA has partnered with Dale Carnegie Training to bring their high caliber supervisory and leadership training in-house for the Supervisory Skills Program. \nDale Carnegie trainers take participants through the Cycle of Performance Change process to create an environment that allows transformation to happen. \nIn every Dale Carnegie program\, participants are constantly reflecting on how utilizing the skill or tool would positively impact themselves and their organization. From the very beginning\, participants are encouraged to identify the changes they desire and\, more specifically\, the behaviors they are seeking to change or improve. Some of Dan’s responsibilities covered construction\, maintenance\, and safety of the electric line division.  Dan continues to maintain his  1B/2A Mass. hoisting license and a Mass. DESCRIPTION:NEPPA has partnered with Dale Carnegie Training to bring their high caliber supervisory and leadership training in-house for the Supervisory Skills Program. \nDale Carnegie trainers take participants through the Cycle of Performance Change process to create an environment that allows transformation to happen. \nIn every Dale Carnegie program\, participants are constantly reflecting on how utilizing the skill or tool would positively impact themselves and their organization. From the very beginning\, participants are encouraged to identify the changes they desire and\, more specifically\, the behaviors they are seeking to change or improve.
