DESCRIPTION:In direct response to members’ feedback\, NEPPA announced a completely revitalized Metering Program in 2020. As the Program continues to evolve\, we encourage members and students to provide their honest feedback on the program. NEPPA’s Metering I Program will be held April 5 -6\, 2023 at the NEPPA Training Center (200 New Estate Road\, Littleton\, MA 01460). \nNEPPA’s Metering I Program is designed to be an introduction to the fundamentals of meter equipment and safety. DESCRIPTION:NEPPA offers a four-year curriculum of the Northwest Lineman College’s Lineworker Certification Program and combines hands-on and formal classroom training. Students attend class four times a year for four days each to complete the four-year program. \nIn addition to classroom time\, students are expected to: \nSelf-study by reading the material \nTrack\, record\, and submit monthly apprenticeship reports of on-the-job training \nTrack\, record and submit quarterly “competency” forms \nEach year\, students participate in an additional two-day Skills Assessment Rodeo each year. The Apprentice Rodeo is designed to showcase the apprentices’ developing technical and climbing skills\, and to reinforce the program’s focus on professionalism\, safety\, and proper technique. \nAttendance Policy \nStudents are required to attend all 16-days of the in-class program as well as the two-day Skills Assessment Rodeo. Any student unable to attend their regularly scheduled class or the Skills Assessment Rodeo is required to make-up the time\, training\, and competencies covered during those class days. DESCRIPTION:NEPPA’s is pleased to offer the revitalized Substation I Program which is held 3.5-days/week for 4 weeks/year. Substation I is designed to be an introduction to substations including safety\, design\, operation\, equipment and theory. Upon successful completion of the Program\, students are awarded a Certificate of Completion. \nIn addition to in-class lecture\, the Substation I Program incorporates hands-on application of concepts and testing\, field visits and tours of different installations\, and weekly testing including a final exam to demonstrate knowledge and comprehension of the course content. SUMMARY:Basic Electricity & Mathematics for Utility Operations
DESCRIPTION:NEPPA is pleased to continue offering a 1-day basic and technical prerequisite course for anyone looking to attend technical programs or to gain a basic understanding of electrical theory\, concepts and mathematic principles. \nNEPPA’s Basic Electricity & Mathematics for Utility Operations course is scheduled to be held twice  this year on March 28 & October 17\, 2023 at the NEPPA Training Center (200 New Estate Road\, Littleton\, MA 01460) as part of the first day of two other technical programs. \nBasic Electricity & Mathematics for Utility Operations is designed to be an introduction to the electrical concepts and mathematic principles needed to understand electricity and electrical equipment. DESCRIPTION:NEPPA offers hoisting Continuing Education and Test Prep classes for: \n> Hoisting 1B-1D: hoisting machines\, i.e. cranes and bucket trucks\n> Hoisting 2A-2C: digging machines\, i.e. excavators and backhoes \nPer mandated requirement\, all classes are scheduled for 4 hours. These classes are for both\, continuing education (to renew the license) and the test prep (to prepare for the test to receive a brand-new license). \nONLY test prep attendees are NOT required to attend the full 4 hours of class. \nStudents attending classes for continuing education will need to bring their hoisting license for verification and will receive a certificate of completion at the end of each class. Some of Dan’s responsibilities covered construction\, maintenance\, and safety of the electric line division. Dan continues to maintain his 1B/2A Mass. hoisting license and a Mass. DESCRIPTION:NEPPA is pleased to be offer Substation II Program.   \nSubstation II Program will continue to be held 4-days/week for 4 weeks/year. NEPPA’s Substation II Program is designed to build upon the foundations learned in the Substation I Program\, and focus on the principles of substation design\, construction\, operations and maintenance. \nIn addition to in-class lecture\, the Substation II Program incorporates hands-on application of concepts and testing\, field visits and tours of different installations\, and weekly testing including a final exam to demonstrate knowledge and comprehension of the course content. \nUpon successful completion of the Program\, students are awarded a Certificate of Completion. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				SESSION DATES & HOURS\nClasses are held Tuesday – Thursday from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm; and Fridays 8:00 am – 11:00 am. \nEach Friday of the session will consist of a virtual review of the week’s material and online testing. SUMMARY:Apprentice Lineworker Program - Year 4
DESCRIPTION:NEPPA has adopted the four-year curriculum of the Northwest Lineman College’s Lineworker Certification Program and combines hands-on and formal classroom training.  Students attend class four times a year for four days each to complete the four-year program. \nIn addition to classroom time\, students are expected to: \nSelf-study by reading the material \nTrack\, record\, and submit monthly apprenticeship reports of on-the-job training \nTrack\, record and submit quarterly “competency” forms \nEach year\, students participate in an additional two-day Skills Assessment Rodeo each year. The Apprentice Rodeo is designed to showcase the apprentices’ developing technical and climbing skills\, and to reinforce the program’s focus on professionalism\, safety\, and proper technique. \nAttendance Policy \nStudents are required to attend all 16-days of the in-class program as well as the two-day Skills Assessment Rodeo.  Any student unable to attend their regularly scheduled class or the Skills Assessment Rodeo is required to make-up the time\, training\, and competencies covered during those class days. DESCRIPTION:NEPPA offers hoisting Continuing Education and Test Prep classes for: \n> Hoisting 1B-1D: hoisting machines\, i.e. cranes and bucket trucks\n> Hoisting 2A-2C: digging machines\, i.e. excavators and backhoes \nPer mandated requirement\, all classes are scheduled for 4 hours. These classes are for both\, continuing education (to renew the license) and the test prep (to prepare for the test to receive a brand-new license). \nONLY test prep attendees are NOT required to attend the full 4 hours of class. \nStudents attending classes for continuing education will need to bring their hoisting license for verification and will receive a certificate of completion at the end of each class. If the hoisting license is not brought to class for verification\, or if the license has been expired for more than a year\, the certificate will not be issued. In this case\, you will have to take the test again. Some of Dan’s responsibilities covered construction\, maintenance\, and safety of the electric line division. Dan continues to maintain his 1B/2A Mass. hoisting license and a Mass.
