DESCRIPTION:NEPPA has adopted the four-year curriculum of the Northwest Lineman College’s Lineworker Certification Program and combines hands-on and formal classroom training. The Apprentice Rodeo is designed to showcase the apprentices’ developing technical and climbing skills\, and to reinforce the program’s focus on professionalism\, safety\, and proper technique. \nAttendance Policy \nStudents are required to attend all 16-days of the in-class program as well as the two-day Skills Assessment Rodeo. DESCRIPTION:NEPPA’s is pleased to offer the revitalized Substation I Program which is held 3.5-days/week for 4 weeks/year. Substation I is designed to be an introduction to substations including safety\, design\, operation\, equipment and theory. Upon successful completion of the Program\, students are awarded a Certificate of Completion. \nIn addition to in-class lecture\, the Substation I Program incorporates hands-on application of concepts and testing\, field visits and tours of different installations\, and weekly testing including a final exam to demonstrate knowledge and comprehension of the course content. DESCRIPTION:NEPPA’s is pleased to offer the revitalized Substation I Program which is held 3.5-days/week for 4 weeks/year. Substation I is designed to be an introduction to substations including safety\, design\, operation\, equipment and theory. Upon successful completion of the Program\, students are awarded a Certificate of Completion.  \nIn addition to in-class lecture\, the Substation I Program incorporates hands-on application of concepts and testing\, field visits and tours of different installations\, and weekly testing including a final exam to demonstrate knowledge and comprehension of the course content. Some of Dan’s responsibilities covered construction\, maintenance\, and safety of the electric line division. Dan continues to maintain his 1B/2A Mass. hoisting license and a Mass. Class A Driving license. Dan is a lifelong resident of Wakefield\, Ma where he lives with his wife Alayne of 39 years they have two adult children. He says “It is a privilege to continue to be involved with the public power industry in New England to give back any knowledge I’ve acquired over these many years.” \n					\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					Lou Gabriele\n					Technical & Safety Trainer\, Certified American Heart Association & Medic First Aid Trainer for First Aid\, CPR\, AED  \n					Lou Gabriele has been a technical and safety trainer with NEPPA for over 20 years. Prior to joining NEPPA\, Lou spent his 30+ year line career with Central Vermont Public Service (CVPS). Prior to being merged with Green Mountain Power\, Central Vermont Public Service Corp. was the largest electricity supplier in Vermont. Its customer base covered 160\,000 people in 163 towns\, villages and cities in Vermont. \n					\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					Scott Larsen\n					Technical & Safety Trainer \n					Scott joined NEPPA in September 2020 and has 32 years of professional experience in the utility industry. Scott retired from his role as the General Line Foreman for Littleton Electric Light and Water Departments in spring 2020. His significant field experience coupled with his passion for safety has made him an excellent addition to NEPPA’s training team. Well known for his stellar work with NEPPA’s Lineworkers Rodeo\, Scott is also quite familiar with NEPPA Mutual Aid and has participated in Light Up Navajo. Some of Dan’s responsibilities covered construction\, maintenance\, and safety of the electric line division. Dan continues to maintain his 1B/2A Mass. hoisting license and a Mass. Class A Driving license. Dan is a lifelong resident of Wakefield\, Ma where he lives with his wife Alayne of 39 years they have two adult children. Its customer base covered 160\,000 people in 163 towns\, villages and cities in Vermont. \n					\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					Tim Richardson\n					P.E.\,Technical & Safety Trainer \n					Tim Richardson joined NEPPA in September of 2019 and has been an asset to the training team. DESCRIPTION:NEPPA has adopted the four-year curriculum of the Northwest Lineman College’s Lineworker Certification Program and combines hands-on and formal classroom training.  Students attend class four times a year for four days each to complete the four-year program. \nIn addition to classroom time\, students are expected to: \nSelf-study by reading the material \nTrack\, record\, and submit monthly apprenticeship reports of on-the-job training \nTrack\, record and submit quarterly “competency” forms \nEach year\, students participate in an additional two-day Skills Assessment Rodeo each year. The Apprentice Rodeo is designed to showcase the apprentices’ developing technical and climbing skills\, and to reinforce the program’s focus on professionalism\, safety\, and proper technique. \nAttendance Policy \nStudents are required to attend all 16-days of the in-class program as well as the two-day Skills Assessment Rodeo. DESCRIPTION:NEPPA’s is pleased to offer the revitalized Substation I Program which is held 3.5-days/week for 4 weeks/year. Substation I is designed to be an introduction to substations including safety\, design\, operation\, equipment and theory. DESCRIPTION:The seminar covers cybersecurity and securing operational technology (OT) networks for substations and industrial plants. Attendees will understand the threats to industrial control systems (ICS) and the methods used to secure them. \nThe goal of this seminar is to identify threat vectors\, discuss the concept of risk\, introduce mitigation methods\, and identify zones of protection. In addition\, it will discuss individual roles in cybersecurity. SUMMARY:Apprentice Lineworker Program - Year 2
DESCRIPTION:NEPPA has adopted the four-year curriculum of the Northwest Lineman College’s Lineworker Certification Program and combines hands-on and formal classroom training.  Students attend class four times a year for four days each to complete the four-year program. \nIn addition to classroom time\, students are expected to: \nSelf-study by reading the material \nTrack\, record\, and submit monthly apprenticeship reports of on-the-job training \nTrack\, record and submit quarterly “competency” forms \nEach year\, students participate in an additional two-day Skills Assessment Rodeo each year. The Apprentice Rodeo is designed to showcase the apprentices’ developing technical and climbing skills\, and to reinforce the program’s focus on professionalism\, safety\, and proper technique. \nAttendance Policy \nStudents are required to attend all 16-days of the in-class program as well as the two-day Skills Assessment Rodeo.  Any student unable to attend their regularly scheduled class or the Skills Assessment Rodeo is required to make-up the time\, training\, and competencies covered during those class days. DESCRIPTION:In its second iteration\, NEPPA is continuing to improve and is pleased to offer the Public Utility Management Program again in 2022.  The Public Utility Management Program (PUMP) is a 6-day\, one year Program held April 12 – 14 and October 25 – 27\, 2022 at the NEPPA Training Center (200 New Estate Road\, Littleton\, MA 01460). \nPUMP is a robust course which covers a variety of management\, leadership\, and operations disciplines necessary for leaders of Public Power\, today and in the future.  Due to the extremely interactive nature of this training experience\, class size is limited. \nUpon successful completion of the Program\, participants will have gained 39 Professional Development Hours\, a Certificate of Completion and special recognition for completing the Program. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				What makes PUMP different? \nNow in its 30th year\, PUMP is the only program of its kind in New England. As the Program continues to evolve\, we encourage members and students to provide their honest feedback on the program. NEPPA’s Metering I Program will be held April 5 -6\, 2022 at the NEPPA Training Center (200 New Estate Road\, Littleton\, MA 01460). \nNEPPA’s Metering I Program is designed to be an introduction to the fundamentals of meter equipment and safety.
