SUMMARY:Metering I Program
DESCRIPTION:Metering I is a 2-day course held Tuesday\, March 25th – Wednesday\, March 26th\, 2025 from 8am – 3pm at theNEPPA Training Center (200 New Estate Road\, Littleton\, MA 01460) \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				NEPPA’s Metering I Program is designed to be an introduction to the fundamentals of meter equipment and safety.  The Program will introduce how meters are used as an integral part of the distribution system and why their accurate and efficient readings are critical to a utility’s success. \nUpon successful completion of the Program\, students are awarded a Certificate of Completion. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				WHO SHOULD ATTEND\nThis course is designed for: \n• Intermediate or transitioning Meter Technicians \n• Lineworkers \n• Supervisors or Managers transitioning from other departments \n \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES\nUpon completion of the program\, participants will be able to successfully: \n\n\n\nDemonstrate a foundational/introductory knowledge of meter use\, demand and digital vs. analog meters.\nPractice hands-on safe installation and removal of a meter.\nCalculate and demonstrate the safe measurement of electricity.\nRecognize meter theft\, revenue protection controls\, and how to safely install service and conduct inspections.\nDemonstrate a basic understanding of net metering\, demand metering and reverse metering.\nAccurately identify faulty equipment and troubleshoot solutions\n\n\n\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				COURSE PREREQUISITES\nStudents are expected to have completed NEPPA’s Basic Electricity and Mathematics for Utility Operations course and/or demonstrate a solid understanding of basic electricity concepts\, theory and mathematics through prequalification testing. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				REGISTRATION\n2025 Registration fees includes supplemental materials listed above and lunch each day. \nMembers: $1\,000 \nNon-Members: $1\,550 \n  \nCancellations are accepted until two-weeks prior to the start of the program.  Substitutions may be made at any time prior to the first session. \n  \nTo register\, please click the button below and complete your registration online. \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				MORE COURSE INFORMATION\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				REGISTER NOW
