Position will be responsible for working live secondary conductors and equipment, up to 600 volts as directed. Working on live primary conductors and equipment in conjunction with a first class lineman. Will perform labor functions associated with construction, operation, maintenance of electrical distribution system. Install overhead conductors, devices and underground cables and devices, including necessary splicing along with setting utility poles, towers and supporting fixtures.
Minimum of two (2) years practical experience as a lineman in electrical power and/or communication field or as an electrician. Substitution for experience: Certification of completion of Lineman Training 16 Week Program.
Applicants must possess a CDL Driver’s License and must obtain a Class 1B and 2A MA Hoisting license within (120) days of employment and obtain and maintain security clearance at all CEL service areas. Must be physically able to perform line duties especially climbing wooden poles.
To assist with power restoration, applicant must be available for after-hours emergency response and must live within a reasonable proximity of Chicopee, MA as defined by Union Contract or be willing to relocate to meet CEL’s residency requirement.
