Summary of Duties:
The person in this position shall provide direct assistance to the General Manager regarding the day-to-day operations of the Mansfield Municipal Electric Department (MMED). Person is responsible for developing, directing, and implementing all public communications, public relations, marketing and promotions. The ideal person shall work and communicate effectively with the Board of Commissioners, employees of both MMED and the Town of Mansfield, as well as members of the public. Such communications require considerable patience and courtesy to resolve routine to complex issues. This person will be required occasionally to work beyond normal business hours.

Qualifications: Education and Experience:
Ideal candidate will be a person with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing and Communications plus five to seven years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public utility environment. Proficiency in the use of graphic design software, video editing, word processing, spreadsheet software applications, customer information systems, and social media is highly desirable. Others with equivalent combination of education and proven administrative experience will be considered.

Licenses/Certificates: Massachusetts Class D driver's license.

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills: Excellent customer service, organization, and written and oral communication skills is necessary. Person shall demonstrate professional skills in public communications in a customer engagement environment. Person shall demonstrate ability to work independently to prioritize goals, targets, and meet deadlines. Person shall have ability to multi-task to successfully accomplish the objectives of this position in accordance with Department policies and procedures.

Starting Salary: This is an exempt position not covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The starting salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $125,000 for exceptionally well qualified candidates.
