Merrimac Municipal Light Department (MMLD) seeks a Manager that is career minded individual with excellent leadership, business management, and communications skills. Merrimac is a small, idyllic town located in Essex County, Massachusetts. It is on the southeastern border of New Hampshire with an ideal location just 10 miles from the Atlantic Ocean and 34 miles northeast of Boston. The Town of approximately 7,000 residents is situated on the north bank of the Merrimack River.
In addition to an ideal location the MMLD is well positioned for future success with a "A+ Stable" credit rating from Standard & Poor's, well maintained infrastructure and quality employees throughout the organization. The selected individual will report to a three member Board of Light Commissioners and have responsibility for developing and presenting the annual operating and capital budgets of approximately $5,200,000. MMLD provides electric service to 3,000 customers with 2020 kilowatt-hour sales of 30,000,000. The General. Manager will provide superior leadership to the MMLD team to ensure long term goals of reliability, competitive rates and community involvement are met. To achieve these goals the Manager must foster strong relationships with employees, commissioners, Town government officials and departments as well as the general public.
In order to be considered a B.S. in a business or engineering discipline is desired with a M.S. preferred. Applicant must have strong operational management and business skills and the ability to work effectively with Town government, customers and employees. Experience in the electric utility industry is preferred but not required.
