The Town of Danvers welcomes applicants for the full-time (benefited) union position of Head Lineworker for the Electric Department. Under general supervision of the Distribution Supervisor, performs a variety of supervisory and operating tasks including hands-on, physical work in the construction and maintenance of the Town's electrical distribution system. Performs work related to electrical utility in conformance with local, state, and federal regulations and codes.

 This position performs skilled work in the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of the Town’s overhead and underground electrical distribution system and devices. This position works 40 hours per week (Mondays – Fridays 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM).

Union pay scale, Head Lineworker Pay Scale: starting at $123,230.02, with the ability to move through scale (via step system) to the max step at $128,322.27. The Town offers excellent benefits including health and retirement plans.

Qualifications

Six (6) - eight (8) years of lineworker experience in lower classifications, including a minimum of three (3) years of satisfactory experience as a First Class Lineworker or comparable title. One (1) year of beeper/on-call experience required, in the Danvers Electric distribution system preferred. Minimum of equivalent to a high school or trade school education plus specialized courses in the electrical field. and 1 – 4 years as First Class Lineworker in the Danvers Electric system required. One- year beeper (on-call) experience.

Special Requirements

Massachusetts Class A or B CDL Operator’s License required, with airbrake endorsement and valid MA A1B/3A Hoisting License. Hot Stick qualification required Maintain MA DOT medical card
