WEC is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill a key position in the
General Summary of Job Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for management of field staff and operation personnel; direct the safe
and proper operation, maintenance and repair of Washington Electric Cooperative’s power
distribution and transmission systems; coordinating work with the assistance of the Director of
Operations & Engineering as part of the operations management team.
Maintains active and effective communication with immediate supervisor and operations personnel
to receive/provide direction, instruction, approvals and to provide work related information in a
timely manner. Must work cooperatively with others including WEC’s mechanic and right of way
personnel to coordinate repairs on WEC vehicles and equipment and manage right of ways. Must
also work effectively with safety and office staff in a team environment. Works closely with all
operation supervisors and individuals to provide efficient and effective support for the maintenance
and construction of WEC’s distribution and transmission system
Qualified applicants must possess at a minimum, two-year electrical engineering degree or ten (10)
years’ experience as a foreman or medium level supervisor in electric utility construction, operations
and maintenance is preferred. A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with experience in power
engineering is desirable. Experience in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of
substations, transmission lines, distribution systems (overhead and underground), switch gear,
transformer banks and capacitor installations is required; must have previous experience in organizing,
directing, coordinating and administrating work groups in developing and implementing plans and
designs in a timely and budgetary fashion; previous experience with an RUS cooperative is highly
desirable; a minimum of twelve (12) months experience on the job will be needed before the employee
can be expected to perform satisfactorily with no more than normal supervision and direction.

Salary range: $77,493 - $113,657 Commensurate with experience.
