Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks to ensure accurate and timely financial record-keeping, including processing transactions, data entry, and assisting with routine accounting functions. This role plays a key part in supporting the financial operations of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and record accounts payable and occasional accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Enter financial data into accounting systems and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of bank statements
  • Assist with audits by providing supporting documentation as requested
  • Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
  • File and maintain accounting documents, including invoices, receipts, and financial reports.
  • Provide administrative support to the accounting team, including answering inquiries and preparing routine reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in other accounting-related duties and special projects as assigned.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.

Job Related Experience:

  • 1-2 years of clerical or accounting experience required.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Abilities and Environmental:

Extended workdays may be required to accomplish tasks and meet workload demands during peak periods. Requires extended periods of computer keying, working at a desk, and viewing spreadsheets and other written material. Ability to stand, walk, as well as talk, see and hear. There is also the potential for kneeling and lifting of objects up to 20lbs.

Reports To: Finance Director

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary Range: up to $30.36 per hour
