Description
Vermont Electric Cooperative (VEC), a leading cooperative distribution utility, is looking for a dynamic Supervisor of Substations and Advanced Metering to join our team. Our focus is always on serving our owners: the members we provide electricity to.
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the reliability of our energy services and implementing innovative solutions for our increasingly complex grid. As we move towards more and more renewable and carbon-free energy sources, the substations are at the heart of our grid and much of the data collection that helps us monitor the system.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the Substation and Advanced Metering team. Based in Johnson, they work all over our system.
- Collaborate on technology enhancements for substations and metering systems
- Manage project permitting, design, and execution in collaboration with multiple internal and external partners
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
- Two-year degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience and education
- Five years of experience in electrical utility operations with increasing responsibility
- Demonstrated success leading teams
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent communication abilities

This salary range for this position is $105,000-$125,000 per year commensurate with experience. This is a local position with some required office and field requirements combined with occasional at-home work flexibility. Regular travel throughout our service area- which encompasses beautiful rural northern Vermont, from Lake Champlain to the Connecticut River- required.
