Description

Vermont Electric Cooperative seeks a Systems Engineer that will be at the forefront of designing and leading large-scale construction and system improvement projects. Your role will involve collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful planning, execution, and completion of projects, while adhering to safety standards and industry best practices regulations.

At VEC, we're small enough to know everyone by name and large enough to be leaders in utility innovation. As the largest electric Cooperative in Vermont, we have nonprofit heart and a passion for delivering excellence every day. Our territory goes from the Lake Champlain islands to the Connecticut River, the Canadian border to points as far South as Huntington. Our work is as varied and interesting as the landscape we serve.

To excel in this role, you will have excellent project management skills that include leading and engaging in meetings, record keeping and documentation, and ongoing safety communication and monitoring throughout different projects duration. You'll also be responsible for analyzing and designing changes to power systems, ensuring they meet industry standards like NESC code and ANSI regulations. Additionally, conducting regular system studies to optimize project design, including assessing voltage levels, coordinating protection measures, and determining appropriate fuse sizes across various electrical systems, will be a key aspect of your role.

The Systems Engineer will also provide technical counsel to management, engineering staff, contractors and members. You must be able to demonstrate support for a strong safety culture.

This position reports directly to the Manager of Engineering. It is local and hybrid, based out of our Johnson headquarters.

The salary range for this position is $95,000-$125,000 annualized. Salary is negotiable with relevant experience and ability. Vermont Electric Cooperative provides a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental and vision; 401(k) base and match; Combined Time Off and more.
