The Town of Danvers seeks applications for the full-time position of Utility Billing & Metering Specialist with the DPW Business Division. The Utility Billing & Metering Specialist position works with established methods and procedures regarding the utility billing and metering for water, sewer, and electric. Additionally, performs a variety of responsible duties which require considerable attention to detail, accuracy, and the exercising of good judgement in carrying out operations with limited guidance and direction. This position is responsible for ensuring that the utility operation is conducted effectively and efficiently, and that billing and collection procedures are maintained on a timely basis.
The Town will consider any combination of relevant work experience, volunteering, education, and transferable skills as qualifying unless an item in the qualification section of the job description is labeled required. Associates Degree in Accounting, Business or related field required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred and at least five years of progressively responsible experience in Public Works, customer service, utility billing and metering, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of AMI Smart Meters and Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities rules and regulations. This position works 35 hours per week. Non-Union pay scale (Grade 11) starting at $61,153.71, with the ability to move through scale to the max step at $74,516.82. Hiring rate DOQ. Excellent benefits including educational and professional development opportunities.
