59909 – UTILITY PROJECT ENGINEER IV – ELECTRICAL FOCUS

Rate of Pay: $123,968.00 - $150,654.40

General Description

Under direction of the assigned Manager, the Utility Project Engineer IV is responsible for defining, planning,     managing, and implementing natural gas, electric, water, sewer and other projects within established time frames          and budgets, consistent with NPU’s strategic plan, commitments to its customers and organizational goals. This            position is also responsible for the coordination of operations, maintenance, and construction activities for all NPU   assets and performs related work as required. The Utility Project Engineer IV is accountable for independently performing a full range of engineering and/or related tasks pertaining to the following utility areas: design,    construction, demolition, rehabilitation, operation, maintenance, testing and data collection and analysis,       planning, research, compliance with regulations and performs related work as required. The Utility Project         Engineer IV may lead the work of employees and teams for specific projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor of Science Degree in either Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent engineering degree depending on parenthetic engineering discipline advertised. At least ten (10) years of demonstrated progressively responsible experience in gas, electric, water and/or sewer utility design, operations and project management, or equivalent experience that provides the required knowledge skills, and abilities as applied to the planning, design, and construction of major utility infrastructure and facilities. A Master’s Degree in an Engineering discipline is preferred. Licensed as a Professional Engineer with the State of Connecticut is preferred. Must possess a valid State of Connecticut driver’s license.

Important Information

In order to be considered, applicants must demonstrate on their application they meet the minimum qualifications as stated in the job announcement.

You must reside within the State of Connecticut, 60 miles from Norwich within one year of appointment.

In order to be qualified for this position, candidates must possess electrical engineering focus.
