The Warehouse at New Hampshire Electric Cooperative, Inc. (NHEC) is seeking an individual with experience in warehouse operations and driving. Join our team as the Warehouse Stockperson/ Driver and play a crucial role in maintaining inventory levels and ensuring timely deliveries. This role has an alternating weekly rotation of Warehouse Stockperson one week and driver the next. Reporting to the Warehouse & Purchasing Manager you will work closely with your supervisor, and one other Warehouse Stockperson/Driver to uphold efficient warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive stock truck and maintain proper records for shipping and receiving.
  • Utilize IVue System for accurate inventory management.
  • Communicate effectively with departments and districts for delivery scheduling and distribution.
  • Maintain equipment and conduct daily inspections. 
  • Provide Purchasing/Warehouse Manager up to date inventory needs and upkeep of delivery truck and equipment. 
  • Ships, receives, distributes, documents, unloads, loads, records, plans, and is quality control for the department.

  • Demonstrated experience with developing and maintaining a strong positive working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize and pivot based on urgent requests. Understanding and following established processes.
  • Process improvement; recognizing and presenting ideas for continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • CDL B – new holders are welcome to apply!
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Must be flexible because of varying job assignments.
  • Occasional unassisted lifting of up to 75 pounds.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s license and must meet the carrier standard for insurability. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience of driving heavy-duty trucks including loading, unloading, and securing loads.
  • Forklift operations strongly preferred. Also, able to successfully operate a stock truck, hydraulic lift, pallet jacks and other types of heavy equipment when required.
  • Adaptable to change, based on the weather.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with a personal computer and Microsoft Office desired. Shipping software experience with common carriers a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide Purchasing/Warehouse Manager up to date inventory needs and upkeep of delivery truck and equipment. 
  • Communicates with departments the delivery scheduling and material distribution. 
  • Ships, receives, distributes, documents, unloads, loads, records, plans, and is quality control for the department.

Working Conditions:

Must work inside and out. May be working outside in all weather conditions. Some heavy lifting required. Some overtime may be required, including dispensing stock in case of a major outage.

Assistance with power restoration efforts is required of all employees. It may be required during regular business hours that employees will be assigned functions to support power restoration and for some employees that may be different from their normal duties. In addition, such assistance may require working nights, weekends, and holidays, which may involve considerable extra hours. In order to meet this working condition all employees are required to provide a personal phone number where they may be reached after hours. This number will only be used for internal purposes.

Compensation

The targeted salary for this position is $29.96-$33.07/hr per hour based on the agreement with IBEW. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of NHEC’s total compensation package for employees.
