About the Role
As a Youth Care Worker, you'll provide direct care and guidance to at-risk youth in a safe, family-style home. You'll help teach important life skills and support their moral, spiritual, and educational development—setting them up for a successful future.
What You'll Do
Create a Safe, Supportive Environment

Follow all safety policies and training.

Supervise and guide youth in their daily routines and activities.

Report any unsafe or inappropriate behavior.

Intervene in crisis situations, including using physical restraint if needed.
Support Daily Living & Education

Help youth build positive behaviors using the Boys Town teaching model.

Support school success by promoting study habits and attending school meetings.

Encourage participation in religious activities, community service, and positive life experiences.
Be a Role Model

Teach by example—model good decision-making, respect, and empathy.

Support emotional development through praise, feedback, and individualized attention.

Monitor off-campus activities and promote safety at all times.
Collaborate with Others

Work closely with your team, youth’s families, schools, and outside agencies.

Attend and participate in court when needed.

Keep clear records of progress, behavior, incidents, and medical needs.
Help Manage the Home

Monitor household budget and spending.

Assist with daily chores, upkeep, and maintenance of the home.

Transport youth to appointments and activities.
What You’ll Need

High school diploma or GED (some college preferred)

At least 21 years of age

Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Strong communication skills and sound judgment

Ability to physically engage in home duties and youth activities (e.g., lifting, cleaning, transporting)
