What is public power?
“Public power” means a community owns and operates its own electric utility, distributing energy to its residents. For over 100 years, consumer-owned, not for profit electric utilities have brought low–cost reliable electric service to customers throughout the United States. Nationally, 1 out of 4 customers is served by a public power company that is owned and operated by local or state governments or rural cooperatives.

To develop and unite public utility professionals by advancing their knowledge, capabilities and voice in the public power industry and workplace.

NEPPA 2021 – 2023 Strategic Plan
NEPPA’s mission is to develop and unite public utility professionals by advancing their knowledge, capabilities, and voice in the industry and workplace. To fulfill that mission, the NEPPA Board of Directors, Committees and Staff invested a great deal of time and energy over the past year in revising our strategic plan.
We are pleased to share the 2021-2023 Strategic Plan which will serve as our roadmap for enacting NEPPA’s vision to be the most valuable utility resource and training organization in the Northeast. Click here to view
Representing and serving nearly 80 consumer-owned utilities encompassing the six- state region of: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Apprentice Skills Assessment Rodeo
