Horseplay in the Workplace

According to OSHA, injuries to employees occurring at the workplace due to “horseplay” are recordable on the OSHA 300 Log as long as the injury meets the general recording criteria. Employers are encouraged to review their recordkeeping practices to confirm compliance with the OSHA recordkeeping rules – also, horseplay or reckless behavior while at work can eliminate workers’ compensation.
STRETCH AND FLEX AWARENESS

Stretching is a vital part of a healthy fitness regimen. Pre-shift stretching and warm-up exercises reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries by reducing fatigue, improving muscular balance and posture, and improving muscle coordination.
LOAD SECUREMENT RESPONSIBILITY

As we approach longer days and better weather, state troopers will be checking for load securement issues. Be aware that if a device has the potential to move forward, backward, laterally, or vertically there shall be securement.
Guideline to Determine PCB Status

PCBs, or Polychlorinated Biphenyls are man-made organic compounds which pose risks to human/animal health due to their toxic and bio-accumulative properties. It is important to determine the PCB status of distribution transformers to avoid risk and ensure proper handling.
