Job Description:
Location: Cleary Flood Generating Station
Compensation: $54.19 – $63.76 per hour
We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Equipment/I&C Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Cleary Flood Generating Station. This role is essential for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our facility, handling all aspects of instrumentation and control systems.
- Disassemble, repair, install and overhaul electrical, electronic, computerized, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment used in the control and operation of gas turbines, steam boilers, turbine generators, reciprocating engines, pumps, compressors and other primary and ancillary components of a central station power production plant.
- Inspect, remove, rebuild, fabricate and install valves, panels, piping and other equipment including disassembly, inspection and replacement of defective parts.
- Maintain mechanical, pneumatic, computerized and electronic equipment needed to assure reliable operation of the systems controlling the operation of power plant facilities.
- Document the repair, installation, inspection and calibration work done, as required, to maintain adequate historical records.
- Service, repair and calibrate system monitoring equipment.
- Troubleshoot electronic and computerized control loops and control systems.
- Assist in writing/debugging PLC ladder logic control programs. Install and configure I/O cards on both GE and Allen Bradley PLCs. Troubleshoot loops and install/configure single loop PID controllers.
- Support HMI and data acquisition systems.
- Perform all work in compliance with prescribed industry and manufacturer standards and all safety and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
Applicants shall have at least two years of utility experience in performance of the duties stated above for an operating electric generating facility. Applicants must be able to read and interpret engineering specifications and drawings and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the operation and maintenance of high-pressure boilers, pumps, turbines, heating and cooling systems and water purification systems in a central generating station. Applicants must be familiar with PLC ladder logic. Experience with GE Proficy and/or Rockwell Logics systems is required. Applicants must be physically able to perform the duties of the position. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Massachusetts motor vehicle operator's license. Industrial Computer-related experience and ISA certification are preferred. Ability to work in confined spaces and heights is required.
