Metering I Program

NEPPA’s Metering I Program will be held March 26 – 27, 2024 at the NEPPA Training Center (200 New Estate Road, Littleton, MA 01460).
NEPPA’s Metering I Program is designed to be an introduction to the fundamentals of meter equipment and safety. The Program will introduce how meters are used as an integral part of the distribution system and why their accurate and efficient readings are critical to a utility’s success.
Who Should Attend
Metering I is designed for:
- New or Transitioning Meter Technicians
- Lineworkers
- Supervisors or Managers transitioning from other departments
Learning Objectives
- Demonstrate a foundational/introductory knowledge of meter use, demand and digital vs. analog meters.
- Practice hands-on safe installation and removal of a meter
- Calculate and demonstrate the safe measurement of electricity
- Recognize meter theft, revenue protection controls, and how to safely install service and conduct inspections.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of net metering, demand metering and bi-directional metering.
- Accurately identify faulty equipment and troubleshoot solutions

Registration
Registration fees includes supplemental materials above, as well as, coffee and lunch each day. If you have any dietary or other restrictions, please note them on your registration.
