Each year, Holyoke Gas & Electric Department negotiates a wood poles contract on behalf of NEPPA members and would like to get a consensus from members to standardize wood pole treatments for next year’s bid.
As you probably know, the Pentachlorophenol wood preservative will no longer be available for use in treating wood poles after this year. This virtual session is an opportunity to discuss available treatment options including the pros/cons of each from two major wood pole suppliers, Stella-Jones and Koppers.
Following the session, NEPPA will initiate a survey to members to measure consensus for a standard treatment option based on the information provided.
NEPPA is committed to helping our members discuss and address the real-world impact of federal, state and local climate initiatives on the electric utility industry. The Inaugural Climate Initiatives Roundtable brings together interested stakeholders, and will be led by a panel of joint action agency representatives from each of our member states.
