Description
Under the direction of the Sustainability Program Manager, the Energy Liaison serves as a customer-focused energy advisor supporting the Department's Inclusive Utility Investment (IUI) Program and related sustainability initiatives. The position assists customers in identifying, financing, and implementing energy efficiency, electrification, and clean energy projects by providing guidance on available programs, incentives, and financing opportunities, while working collaboratively with customers, contractors, community organizations, and utility staff to reduce barriers to participation, promote equitable access to clean energy solutions, support successful project completion, and advance the Department's sustainability goals.
What You'll Do
Help Customers Take Action
- Serve as a primary point of contact for energy efficiency, electrification, decarbonization, and clean energy programs.
- Guide customers through project options, eligibility requirements, incentives, financing, and available resources.
- Support customers from the initial planning stages through application, installation, and project completion.
- Coordinate with customers, contractors, community organizations, and utility staff to help projects succeed.
Support Innovative Energy Programs
- Assist with the implementation and administration of the Department's Inclusive Utility Investment (IUI) Program and other sustainability initiatives.
- Maintain program records, customer files, financial documentation, and reporting.
- Help develop program procedures, educational resources, and continuous improvement strategies.
Connect with the Community
- Conduct outreach and educational activities to increase awareness of energy programs and services.
- Develop presentations, informational materials, and community engagement activities.
- Represent the Electric Light Department at community events, workshops, and meetings.
Build Partnerships
- Collaborate with internal departments, community organizations, government agencies, and program partners.
- Track customer participation, project outcomes, and program performance.
- Prepare reports and recommendations that support program evaluation and the Department's sustainability goals.

Qualifications & Abilities
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in sustainability, energy, environmental studies, business, public administration, communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in energy efficiency, sustainability, customer service, program administration, community outreach, or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of energy efficiency, electrification, clean energy technologies, and sustainability programs.
• Strong communication, customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to explain technical and financial information in a clear and accessible manner.
• Familiarity with energy efficiency incentives, financing programs, and resources such as Mass Save, HEAP, and HEARTWAP is desirable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business software.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities.
