Help Wanted: Finance Coordinator (Manager-in-Training)
The Clear River Electric & Water District (CREW) is seeking an experienced and motivated finance professional to join our team as the Finance Coordinator. This role is structured as a succession position and will transition into the Manager of Customer Service & Finance role upon the current Manager’s retirement (within an estimated 2-3 years).
What You’ll Do
- Oversee financial operations for our electric and water departments, including budgeting, regulatory filings, annual audits, and monthly financial reports
- Manage customer account billing, collections, and reporting processes
- Collaborate with the General Manager and management team on long-term financial and operational planning
- Support the District’s strategic initiatives and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, preferred. Associate’s degree in accounting or finance, considered
- 2+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience
- Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
- Familiarity with utility accounting and regulations (or a willingness to learn)
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to management, auditors, and community stakeholders
- A team player with a commitment to the community we serve
- Must be able to respond quickly to CREW’s Pascoag, RI office (within 30 minutes) to assist with emergency office operations such as storms, outages, or water main breaks.
