Metering I Program

NEPPA Training Center 200 New Estate Rd, Littleton

NEPPA's Metering I Program is designed to be an introduction to the fundamentals of meter equipment and safety. The Program will introduce how meters are used as an integral part of the distribution system and why their accurate and efficient readings are critical to a utility's success.

Apprentice Lineworker Program – Year 3

NEPPA has adopted the four-year curriculum of the Northwest Lineman College’s Lineworker Certification Program and combines hands-on and formal classroom training. Students attend class four times a year for four days each to complete the four-year program.

*NEW* Beginning in 2021, each Friday of the session will consist of a virtual review of the week’s material and online testing. Students should plan to attend classes in-person at the Training Center Tuesday – Thursday, and join the session(s) remotely on Friday.

NEPPA Public Utility Management Program [PUMP]

NEPPA is excited to continue its completely revamped Public Utility Management Program (PUMP) designed to develop and foster personal and professional growth for new, rising or established leaders in the electric utility industry.

Substation I Program – Session 3

NEPPA Training Center 200 New Estate Rd, Littleton

Session III: May 18 - 21, 2021 (8:00 am - 2:00 pm)
Session IV: June 15 - 18, 2021

NEPPA's Substation I Program is held 4-days/week for 4 weeks/year. Substation I is designed to be an introduction to substations including safety, design, operation, equipment and theory.

*NEW* Beginning in 2021, each Friday of the session will consist of a virtual review of the week's material and online testing. Students should plan to attend classes in-person at the Training Center Tuesday - Thursday and join the session(s) remotely on Friday.

In addition to in-class lecture, the Substation I Program incorporates hands-on application of concepts and testing, field visits and tours of different installations, and weekly testing including a final exam to demonstrate knowledge and comprehension of the course content.

In 2021, NEPPA is be establishing the following "Make-Up Weeks" to invite any student who needs to make-up time in the Program and/or conduct competencies for the Program.

Climate Initiatives Roundtable – Postponed

In Person or Virtual 200 New Estate Rd, Littleton

NEPPA is committed to helping our members discuss and address the real-world impact of federal, state and local climate initiatives on the electric utility industry. Our first Climate Initiatives Roundtable is scheduled to be held Wednesday, May 26th as a hybrid (in-person and virtual) event from 9:00 am – 11:30 am. This roundtable discussion will bring together interested stakeholders, and will be led by a panel of joint action agency representatives from each of our member states. Panelists will discuss the climate initiatives in their respective state, and highlight a specific project or project that has been deployed to meet these goals. Following the panel, there will be plenty of time for Q&A and general discussion your utility’s response to the many climate initiatives being proposed.

Apprentice Skills Assessment Rodeo

Each year, students participate in an additional two-day Skills Assessment Rodeo each year. The Apprentice Rodeo is designed to showcase the apprentices’ developing technical and climbing skills, and to reinforce the program’s focus on professionalism, safety, and proper technique.

Hoisting 1B-1D Training

NEPPA Training Center 200 New Estate Rd, Littleton

Students attending classes for continuing education will need to bring their hoisting license for verification and will receive a certificate of completion at the end of each class. If the hoisting license is not brought to class for verification, or if the license has been expired for more than a year, the certificate will not be issued. In this case, you will have to take the test again. Those who attend for the test prep will receive information to study for the test.
