NEPPA’s Annual Apprentice Lineworker Program Skill Assessment Rodeo
Wednesday, June 4th and Thursday June 5th, 2025

Each year, students from our Apprentice Lineworker Program participate in a Skill Assessment Rodeo. The Apprentice Rodeo is designed to showcase the apprentices’ developing technical and climbing skills, and to reinforce the program’s focus on professionalism, safety, and proper technique. Students are assigned to one of the two Rodeo days depending on their year in the program.
Managers, supervisors, guests, students and vendors are welcome to this event. Please RSVP in advance to communications@neppa.org and check-in at the registration desk upon arrival. There is no charge to attend this event.

What to Bring
Apprentices should bring the following equipment:
Personal Protective Equipment:
– Climbing Gear
– Leather Gloves
– Hardhat
– Safety Toe Boots
– Safety Glasses
– Your Utility Work Uniform
– Rubber Gloves
General Rules
1. Everyone inside the pole yard area MUST WEAR Hardhats and Safety Glasses.
2. Gloves are required on some events.
3. Each pole MUST BE Sounded before climbing. There are no exceptions!
4. Climbers MUST HAVE GAFF GUARDS ON when walking to/from each event or REMOVE climbers! DQ may result.
5. The fall arrest device must be in position at all times, to prevent a fall. NO CHEATING!! The green strap of the BuckSqueeze must always contact the pole.
6. *** Horseplay and unprofessional behavior will not be tolerated. ***
7. Each Apprentice must complete all events assigned to their class.
8. Complete STOP on WHISTLE!
Directions
Traffic can be heavy in the mornings so please plan accordingly. The NEPPA Training Center is located at 200 New Estate Road in Littleton, MA. Although we abut Littleton Electric Light & Water Department, we do have a seperate entrance. Our building is behind the town soccer fields. When entering you will see the Northeast Public Power sign.
Parking
Carpooling is encouraged, when possible, as there is limited parking available at the NEPPA Training Center. When you arrive, please look out for signs and staff directing you on where to park. Parking is available in front of the NEPPA building and next to the soccer fields.
