NEPPA is committed to providing high-quality technical and safety training, particularly in the shadows of COVID-19, and is pleased to continue offering a new series of live, instructor-led @Your-Site Virtual Training sessions.
Each year, Holyoke Gas & Electric Department negotiates a wood poles contract on behalf of NEPPA members and would like to get a consensus from members to standardize wood pole treatments for next year’s bid.
As you probably know, the Pentachlorophenol wood preservative will no longer be available for use in treating wood poles after this year. This virtual session is an opportunity to discuss available treatment options including the pros/cons of each from two major wood pole suppliers, Stella-Jones and Koppers.
Following the session, NEPPA will initiate a survey to members to measure consensus for a standard treatment option based on the information provided.
