Marblehead Municipal Light Department (MMLD) is seeking to hire a Lineworker (1st Class, 2nd Class or 3rd Class) to join our Line Distribution Crew.
Summary of Duties: Performs all levels of line work at voltages up to 23,00 volts in a safe and efficient manner. Construction, maintenance and repair of overhead and underground electric distribution system. Works long hours as required during emergency and storm situations.
Supervision Received: Works under the Distribution Manager, Working Foreman, Lead Lineman.
Applicant must have or obtain either Class A or B Massachusetts Drivers License and a Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer License 1B within one year of hire.
Applicant must show technical skills and demonstrate capability to perform work in a safe and efficient manner. Strong communication skills and a team approach.
Job Duties include but not limited to:
Installation and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution systems.
Working on energized conductors (primary and secondary)
Setting, framing and guying poles
Respond to emergency/regular repair/maintenance of overhead and underground distribution lines
Conduct switching and tagging operations
Mounting transformers and other line equipment
Tree trimming
Street lighting
Locating underground lines
Troubleshooting
Working safely under Department and OSHA regulations
Maintaining training and safety skills as well as all licenses
Safely operate and maintain all vehicles, such as buckets, digger derricks am
nd any and all tools, equipment supplied on these vehicles.

Participation a rotating on call schedule
Our normal operational hours are 7am to 3pm Monday through Friday
