Description:
The Merrimac Municipal Light Department (MMLD) located in Merrimac; MA is seeking a full-time Customer Service/Administrative Assistant position.
MMLD is a municipal electric utility serving the Town of Merrimac that offers competitive salaries and benefits which includes a guaranteed pension.
The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma and:
-Three years of customer service experience and/or administrative assistant experience
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Experienced with customer billing systems, information systems, and website design/maintenance
-Computer literacy (Microsoft office, Office, General Ledger software, CRM)
-Ability to handle difficult customers and complaints
-Ability to learn NDS billing software/Vadar general ledger software
-Knowledge to maintain frequent social media content and postings
-Detail oriented and must be able to multitask and have a pleasant demeanor both on the telephone and when interacting with the public and fellow employees
-Must be positive, energetic, personable, excellent communicator, self-disciplined and possess a strong ethical foundation.
Duties include but are not limited to providing customer service via phone, in person and through our website. The person will be working directly with the customer service representative and office manager. This position is a great opportunity to work within the utility business and provide a vital service to 3,100 customers of the MMLD community.

Compensation: New position is $27 per hour for 40 hours per week. Two-week vacation, 14 paid holidays and 4 personal days.
