Description
There are two vacancies for the position of Lineman. These positions are under the supervision of the General Foreman. The wage scale is $58.01 per hour minimum and $64.46 per hour maximum. Future wage levels are subject to labor negotiations.
DUTIES OF POSITION:
- Performs all work necessary in the operation, maintenance, and construction of an electric power distribution and transmission system.
- Work includes but is not limited to climbing poles; connecting wires; installing transformers, regulators, capacitors, switches, or other equipment on poles, in vaults or in buildings; stringing wires on poles and to buildings; performing tests of circuits; installing and removing wires, cable and fiber optic cable.
- Installs cables and other equipment in underground facilities including URD and PILC splicing and terminating.
- Performs switching of electric power systems.
- Operates line construction equipment such as bucket trucks, digger trucks, cable winches, puller-tensioners, hydraulic presses, compressors, and wood chippers.
- Performs live-line and hot stick work on all TMLP transmission and distribution facilities.
- Implements spill containment procedures and assists in spill cleanup.
- Performs work in a safe manner; adhering to safety rules.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the functional job description. High School education or equivalent is required. This is a journeyman position. Applicants must have a minimum of four (4) years of full-time paid experience as an Apprentice Lineman (or equivalent) and must have worked at least two years as a journeyman with an electric utility. Must pass a hands-on practical skills exam. Must possess a Class A, CDL motor vehicle operator’s license and have a good driving record. A Class 1B hoisting license is required within six months of appointment. Resumes must be submitted to Kimberly Holmes, General Manager, by August 9, 2024.
