Vermont Electric Cooperative (VEC), a member-owned electric utility, is hiring a 1st Class Lineworker at our Newport District.
We're seeking a safety-focused, team-oriented Journeyman Lineworker who thrives in a collaborative environment. If you're considering a move, keep in mind that this position requires working outdoors in all types of weather, including extreme conditions. As a rural utility, our service lines are often off-road, so pole climbing and challenging terrain are part of the job. This role includes participation in the on-call rotation and requires regular overtime, both planned and unexpected. You must live within 45 minutes of the Newport District by the end of your first year.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent is a must..
Line Worker school or equivalent experience required.
Class A Commercial Drivers License required.
Journeyman status strongly preferred.
Knowledge of VEC's system in the district this position is for is preferred.
Cooperative mindset is very helpful.
