Operations Coordinator | DPW Electric Division 

The Town of Danvers welcomes applications for the full-time, benefitted position of Operations Coordinator with the DPW Electric Division. Under the general direction of the Electric Utility Director, and/or their designee, the Operations Coordinator provides electrical engineering services to the Electric Division and other Town departments. This position performs electrical system operations and dispatching to ensure the reliable delivery of electricity during normal and emergency situations.

This position works thirty five (35) hours per week. Union - DIEG position (Grade 24) pay scale starting at $59.27/hr, with the ability to move through scale (via step system) to the max step at $72.51/hr. Hiring range DOQ. Excellent benefits, including health and dental insurance with employer contribution to premium.

The Town will consider any combination of relevant work experience, volunteering, education, and transferable skills as qualifying unless an item in the qualification section of the job description is labeled required.

High school diploma or trade school graduate required. Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution preferred. Seven (7) to ten (10) years of operations experience with an electric utility three (3) to five (5) years of project management preferred or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of GIS, SCADA, NESC and OSHA utility regulations required. Must be able to obtain Red Tag and High Voltage Rubber Glove certification as determined by the Electric Utility Director within six (6) months from date of hire. This time frame may be extended by the Electric Utility Director under certain circumstances. Must be able to qualify for an function as the Control Authority, as determined by the Electric Utility Director, for the electric distribution system, within one (1) year of the year immediately following Reg Tag and High Voltage qualification. This time frame may be extended by the Utility Director under certain circumstances.
