Please be advised there is one (1) vacancy for the position of Resource Analyst. This is a management position reporting to the Energy Supply and Planning (ESP) Supervising Analyst.
Duties of Position:
- Understand existing and monitor new NERC reliability standards and determine applicability to TMLP using basic Power Engineering and Cyber Security concepts.
- Ability to understand, develop, and implement internal procedures; internal controls; and corrective action plans in order to be compliant with NERC reliability standards.
- Ability to document assumptions, conclusions, or completed tasks in order to provide evidence for compliance audits administered by NPCC.
- Developing strategies for optimization of resources to fit within the TMLP energy supply portfolio. Including TMLP’s operated generating resources’ actual performance as related to the bid and actual cost.
- Develop modeling techniques to perform and monitor Cost of Service results and identify trends, anomalies, and suggest ways to react to changes over time. Items to concentrate on are ISO markets and power supply contracts.
- Monitoring, analyzing, and verifying prices of units for resources procured.
- Assist in the procurement of resources related to TMLP’s power supply, natural gas, oil, power, emissions, and electricity products.
- Analyze historical demand and develop short and long-term load forecasting models.
- Understand electric utility customer rate structures.
- Develop reporting templates for supply, demand, or any other applicable market products.
- Participate in regular market assessments and environmental trends that could affect our customer base and our growth strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
This position requires strong analytical and communication skills. A willingness to develop an in-depth understanding of Applicable NERC Compliance Standards and all ISO New England markets Including but not limited to energy, capacity, and ancillary market rules. The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated attention to detail. The successful candidate must possess the ability to work independently as well as with others in ESP and other departments. The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office and possess the ability to work with other in-house software. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent is required. A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a corporate setting, preferably in the natural gas or power industry is preferred. Wages will be based on experience and qualifications. A valid driver’s license and the ability to carry a cell phone 24 hours per day, seven days per week is required.
