We are currently seeking a Senior Legislative & Regulatory Coordinator. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing our legislative and regulatory strategies. You will build and maintain relationships with key legislators, analyze and track relevant legislation, and oversee grant opportunities. You will also provide essential communications support to promote MMWEC's programs and services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Track and communicate developments related to legislation and regulations
  • Assist in developing strategic positions and propose new legislation to meet the needs of MMWEC and the municipal light plants (MLPs) that we serve
  • Develop and maintain robust relationships with legislators and administration officials
  • Create impactful publications and materials to bolster MMWEC's communication strategies
  • Represent MMWEC at various public power events
  • Identify, research and track federal and state grant opportunities
  • Communicate grant opportunities effectively to internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead the completion of grant applications on behalf of MMWEC and its members
  • Serve as a backup for uploading content and making edits to MMWEC's public and private websites
  • Assist with maintaining website accounts and compliance with Public Records Law
  • Support events, projects, and other administrative duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Political Science, or a related field
  • Proven experience in government affairs, public policy, communications or grant writing
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, ability to work independently and a strong commitment to customer service
