100 Days of Summer
June, 2024
The 100 Days of Summer campaign provides critical information to raise awareness and assist in mitigating the risks associated with the most common on and off-duty mishaps. The industry call this the 100 Days of Summer, from Memorial Day to Labor Day. There are 60% more accidents during this time, it’s very easy to become complacent. The weather is nice, the days are longer, and employees take vacations.

Horseplay in the Workplace
May, 2024
According to OSHA, injuries to employees occurring at the workplace due to “horseplay” are recordable on the OSHA 300 Log as long as the injury meets the general recording criteria. Employers are encouraged to review their recordkeeping practices to confirm compliance with the OSHA recordkeeping rules – also, horseplay or reckless behavior while at work can eliminate workers’ compensation.

LOAD SECUREMENT RESPONSIBILITY
March, 2024
As we approach longer days and better weather, state troopers will be checking for load securement issues. Be aware that if a device has the potential to move forward, backward, laterally, or vertically there shall be securement.
