Description
The Groveland Municipal Light Department is accepting applications for (1) Lead Lineworker or First Class Lineworker.
The primary duties of the position are, under the supervision of the General Manager or Line Foreman:
- To safely install, maintain and repair overhead and underground conductors that may be energized at ranges between 13,800V – 120V
- Have a working knowledge of URD and substation systems
- Erect and set poles
- Install and replace transformers, switches and other devices
- Follow, comprehend and execute system switching orders
- Have the ability to climb poles and operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment as well as pass the appropriate hoisting/CDL tests
- Maintain street lighting and private area lights
- Participate as part of a response team to weather related events throughout New England, the contiguous United States, and it’s territories
- Participate in a stand-by on call rotation to respond to emergencies
- Any other duties as assigned by the General Manager/Line Foreman
- Lead Lineworker candidates should have a minimum of 10 years experience including supervision of assigned personnel
- Lead Lineworkers will assist in maintaining accurate records of work performed and ensure training of subordinate lineworkers
Candidates are required to have completed a recognized lineworker apprenticeship program. Possession of a minimum Class B Commercial Driver’s License required; Class A License expected to be obtained within 18 months of hire. Massachusetts 1B Hoisting Engineers License is also required. Position is subject to federal drug and alcohol testing requirements.
This is a non-union position. Salary range:
Lead Lineman: $58.36
First Class Lineman: $49.66 - $54.75, depending on experience.
